Kids Cruisin' Kitchen
In Nebraska, 1 in 6 children is considered food insecure, which means they might not know where they will get their next meal. Summer is a particularly challenging time because kids aren’t eating meals in school and parents often struggle with additional food and child care costs. The Salvation Army's Kids Cruisin' Kitchen program helps bridge this gap for these families by serving meals to kids in need via their mobile canteens (food trucks), which travel around to various locations throughout the Omaha metro area. Each year, I am tasked with developing graphics/imagery to promote this program and inform the Omaha community about volunteering and job opportunities, the lunch menu and location schedule for each week during the summer months.
HR and Volunteer Recruitment Initiatives
I often collaborate with HR, the Volunteer Department and other departments/teams on special initiatives relative to recruitment and hiring to promote available job positions and volunteering opportunities. These efforts chiefly involve creating graphics/imagery and copy for social media posts. I strive to maintain a consistent brand look across all Salvation Army social media channels while also conveying the most important information in a clear and concise manner.
Love Beyond Campaign
The
Love Beyond Campaign
was rolled out to the public in February of 2021.
The campaign is designed to encourage awareness that The Salvation Army “loves beyond” the holidays and throughout the year. They love beyond homelessness, hunger, any human condition, and now its donors are being encouraged to do the same with year-round donations and support. Love Beyond is an invitation to join The Salvation Army in helping suffering humanity. It’s a reminder to love others beyond all else without discrimination. To support this effort, I was tasked with developing a campaign that reiterates this message through the programs and services The Salvation Army provides to the Omaha community at the local level.
7 Can Help Kids Back to School Backpack Drive
For 25 years, The Salvation Army has partnered with KETV NewsWatch 7 in Omaha to make sure every child in the metro area has a backpack filled with school supplies to start the new school year. And from 2019 onwards, I have been tasked with developing a consistent brand look for Salvation Army web and social media channels to help promote awareness of the backpack program and drive donations of new backpacks and school supplies throughout the campaign. The promotions strategy involves public service announcements on KETV and local radio partners (NRG and Boomer Radio), pre-roll display ads on KETV.com, and a heavy online presence including Salvation Army social media channels.
